  • My Taï Chi Chuan Club

First of all, it is a CEs (comité Enterprise) club. The club is part of my Institute CE. In other words, our club is not an independent society. I am the club founder and I am the club’s present president.

To create this club, firstly, we surveyed the people in my institute in order to get more information. For example: are you interested in doing Tai Chi? How much you can spend for the course if you want to participate in the club. Whats the perfect time for you to do Tai Chi, noon or the afternoon? Etc. Thanks to this survey, we better knew the people's needs for the course.

Secondly, we found a sports hall and a Taï Chi Chuan teacher. It was not very easy. For the teacher, the INERIS isn't near Paris. There aren't many Taï Chi Chuan teachers who will accept to make a long trip for one hour’s course. They often asked us to pay for their transport and sometimes to also pay their transport time. It was too expensive for us. Finally, we found a teacher who took his degree from the French Tai Chi Chuan Foundation. He lives in the city near our institute. He has been teaching Taï Chi Chuan for about ten years. He has a lot of experience and he has also won a lot of prizes in Taï Chi Chuan matches. It is very great! :D

And for the hall, it was a little complicated. It is necessary to bring it into balance with the budget. So, on one side we had the fee of the teacher and of the hall and on the other side, the enrolment money for the club: the members’ dues and the CE’s subsidy. The hall's location was too expensive at first. Because there were a lot of people, we had to rent a very large hall (about 200 m2)... Brief, with my dear colleagues we surpassed a lot of difficulties.

After having done the survey, having found the teacher and the hall, we sent a report to the CE to create our club. We presented our project in a CE meeting. After a CE members’ vote, luckily, our new club's project was accepted. We could create our club in INERIS.

We next organised a discovery course. We invited all of the people to assist the first course freely. During the course, the teacher explained what Tai Chi is, its theory and history. He also showed Taï Chi Chuan. After this course, the people could register to the club.

How is the club run? In fact, we have one hour's course each week. For one registration, the member can follow the course for 3 months. In the first registration, there were about 40 people in club, and about 20 people for the second registration. Present, we are 12 for the course.

In fact, in the INERIS, the people have a lot of meetings. They travel quite often in France and abroad. They aren’t in the institute everyday. In addition, our course is in the middle of the daytime (11h50 to 12h50 ). For certain people, it's too difficult to stop their activities. When they miss two courses, they won't continue following the course. That's why there are less and less people in the club. However, the people who are still in the club are the motivated ones. They will continue this activity. Now, we rent a little hall. It isn’t too expensive. Our organisation is getting better and better.

I am very satisfied with our club. I spend a little of my time for the organisation. However, I enjoy doing it. It's a pleasure to see the people learning Tai Chi Chuan, a typical sport of my country .

  • My typical weekend

I live in Chantilly with my fiancé. Chantilly is a city near to Paris (25 minutes in train).

My fiancé is a French boy, he is very kind.I call him f6. As usual, f6 and I, wake up early every weekday we work (about 5h45).Because f6 work at Paris and he spend a lot of time for the trip. During the week-end, we often wake up at the same time. However, we don’t get up immediately. We take several cat naps. About 8 o’clock in the morning, we have our breakfast in bed and we talk.

On Saturday morning, we do some shopping if we don’t go to Francis’ family. The Saturday afternoon and the Sunday, our activities are very varied. Chantilly, the city where we are, is a city of horses. In springtime and summer, there are a lot of horse shows: jumping, and of course we assist these animations. Its very funny. In autumn, we go to the forest and search for mushroom. In the winter, we rest at home like squirrels. We invite our friends and have parties.

Francis is a great Rugby fan. He watches all of the Rugby matches on the TV. However, I am not interested. When he watches his match, I call my family and my friends, or I write the articles for my blog.

There isn’t anything that we specifically don’t like to do. When we are together, we are always happy.
